Welcome to Delta Woods Middle School

The mission of Delta Woods Middle School is to provide students with the skills, resources and environment to acquire knowledge, explore a variety of life opportunities, and become productive, responsible citizens.

Daily Announcements


    MAP testing is right around the corner.  Delta Woods Middle School students will be taking the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) test in the core areas or communication arts, and math.  In addition, our 8th grade students will also be taking the science MAP test.  Listed below are the specific MAP testing dates:


    April 11 – May 4        8th Grade Testing

    April 17 – May 1        7th Grade Testing

    April 18 – May 1        6th Grade Testing



    BSHS CHEERLEADING TRYOUT MEETING The Cheerleading Tryout Parent Meeting for BSHS will take place on March 8, at 6:30 p.m. in the BSHS commons. Tryouts are March 27-30 at 6:00 p.m. in the BSHS small gym.



    TOUCH OF SILVER DANCE TEAM TRYOUTS The 2017-18 Touch of Silver Dance Team Tryouts will be held March 27-31. If interested, please make plans to attend the informational meeting on Thursday, March 9, at 7:00 p.m. in the BSSHS media center.



    BSSHS JAGUAR CHEERLEADING TRYOUTS Blue Springs South Jaguar Cheerleading will be holding tryouts the week of April 17-21. The mandatory tryout meeting will be held at South on Monday, April 3rd at 7:00 P.M. Tryout packets will be available in the office after spring break, but please go ahead and add these dates on your calendar. We look forward to seeing you in April!


    Summer School If your child is interested I summer school, please complete the Middle School Summer School Application and return it to Mrs. Asbury or Mr. Jones in the counseling department.  Students who failed English, math or science first semester and/or are currently failing second semester should enroll in the remediation course(s).  Please note, lunch and transportation are not provided for summer school.  If you have any questions, please contact your child’s counselor. 2017 Summer School Application for Middle School



    Attendance is extremely important.  Thank you for rescheduling routine appointments for other times to avoid disruptions to your child’s day.  Please encourage your child to get plenty of sleep and to have a healthy breakfast.  Let your child know you are proud of their efforts to do their best and not to worry.  They will rock the MAP test!  Thank you for your support.


    Does your child have a math or ELA question?  DWMS math teachers are available to help before school on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday each week.  Help is also available after school on Monday and Tuesday each week.  Help with English Language Arts is available every Tuesday after school.  Please click on the link for more information click here
